Hi team - this week’s newsletter is short. I hope you have a week of progress.
I have had some ups and downs over the past few weeks and these videos provided a lot of enjoyment.
For me - there is absolutely nothing better than listening to Elon shoot the shit with Joe Rogan and getting to experience the conversation as a fly on the wall. It is podcasts like this that make me appreciate the medium of podcasts.
It’s 2 hours long… but I had no problem getting through it. Set aside some time for a long walk and experience the joy of taking that walk with Elon Musk.
Another activity that brought me joy this week was bringing this loaf of 40% whole wheat bread into the world. I’ve mentioned it before - but if you enjoy baking bread (or want to), look no further than Ken Forkish’s book.
I thought I was pretty good at making bread prior to the book… until I read it and realized most of what I thought I knew was wrong.
~fun quotes~
I never found a club or clan or idea that was more important to me than the men and women who believed in it.
A moral point of view too often serves as a substitute for understanding in technological matters.
the photograph has reversed the purpose of travel, which until now had been to encounter the strange and unfamiliar.
The average day in a wannabe author's week and a real author's week looks almost the same. The real author writes a couple pages, laying a brick, and the wannabe author writes nothing. 98% of their day is otherwise identical. But a year later, the real author has a completed first draft of a book and the wannabe author has…nothing.

Playing around with deep learning by renting out a GPU on google cloud. I don’t expect to get very good but the fact that the technology is so accessible is WILD.
